AI for Nonprofits and Using Your Ears 🌍

Podcasts, AI, and everything else within the nonprofit world.

Welcome to the Nonprofit Dome! Thanksgiving’s almost here, which means eating so much you lie down next to the table. My two favorite sides: stuffing and jellied cranberry sauce. It’s not Thanksgiving unless there’s cranberry.

Artificial Intelligence
AI in the nonprofit space

I’m a fan of AI. I use it to help with some the day to day duties of my life. I think of AI as a little assistant who doesn’t mind how dumb I can be from time to time.

From tools like Chat GPT, Sono Ai, Leonardo AI, and CapCut, AI is here to stay. It has a wide range of applications that can benefit nonprofits. Here are a few examples:

  1. Content Creation: Generative AI can help nonprofits create engaging content for their websites, blogs, social media posts, and more. This can save time and resources, allowing staff to focus on other tasks. There are a load of apps to choose from for content creation. Nearly anything can be content at this point. Part of the trick here is finding a piece of content you like, and designing your own version with an Ai tool.

    1. Chat GPT/ other LLM (large language model) tools.

    2. Canva - images, banners, logos

    3. Adobe Express - images, logos, banners, image editing

  2. Personalized Communication: Generative AI can be used to personalize communication with donors, volunteers, and other stakeholders. For example, it can generate personalized emails or messages based on a person’s past interactions with the organization.

    1. Perplexity - creative language models

    2. Chat GPT - the industry standard

    3. Claude AI - more authentic sounding

  3. Data Analysis: Generative AI can also be used to analyze data and generate insights. This could be used to identify trends in donor behavior, predict future giving, or evaluate the impact of different fundraising strategies.

  4. Design: Generative AI can create graphics, logos, and other design elements. This can be particularly useful for smaller nonprofits that don’t have a dedicated design team.

    1. Leonardo Ai

    2. Sono Ai

    3. CapCut

Part of the trick to leveraging Ai is getting comfortable using it. It’s important to play around with the tools and simply spending a little time reading about how folks are employing it. You don’t have to know everything, you just need to inch into the world slowly over time.
